Summer News 2021

Grading
Well Done those who successfully graded, the standard as always was extremely good with lots of beginners really showing great promise for karate in the future.
Belts and certificates are now being given out and its always nice to see pictures on social media….please share these on the Young Gloves Group so that everyone can join in the celebrations.
The link for our club groups can be found on our website.

Summer Holidays
We are going to break up from karate and Boxercise in Aug only.
Breaking up Thurs July 29th and returning Mon Sept 6th

Restrictions lifting
I’m very keen that from Mon July 19th when restrictions are lifted that we can have 2 weeks before breaking up working on pad-work partner-work and sparring.
This is something that some of our new beginners have never experienced before and something that sadly the club has not been able to enjoy for 12 months so I feel it would be very beneficial for everyone to have a go at this before we break in Aug.

From Sept.
Thankfully now that we can see things getting better in terms of restrictions lifting, from Sept I plan to go back to a bit more normality with karate lessons.
Also gradings can be held 3 times a year again (April, July & Nov)
Competition will be in Nov (Date TBA)

Other events
I’m planning a busy period after the summer holiday with courses organised including;
* Child’s 1st aid course
* Women’s self defence course
* Child’s self defence course
These will be in aid of our current charity Smile for Joel and dates will be announced soon.

New Members
We really have been hit by the pandemic and as such as a club we all need to help rebuild if we are to return to the status we once were.
In Sept I’m hoping to see more beginners come into Young Gloves Karate and Boxercise and it’s down to us to spread the word and encourage as many people to join our family.
Please take as many opportunities as possible to help in this including sharing and creating posts on Social media, and spreading the word of what an incredible club we belong to.
