Part of training with Young Gloves karate involves the use of pads for both punching and kicking.
This gives a realistic feel to the techniques learnt, and gives both students an idea of what it feels like when delivering strikes.
These pad drills are also a great workout for fitness and stress relief.
Students will learn to use correct technique over time applying the rules of karate set out by Young Gloves.
Pad work is very much a part of the grading syllabus from 11th Kyu (White 7 Red) on wards.
